Choosing an Amateur Football Club to Join

Amateur football clubs are non-professional clubs where players are not renumerated for taking part in a football game or training. Amateur football clubs are formed by people with the same interests and mostly serve as avenues for networking or exercising either after work or on weekends.

With the popularity of professional football clubs, it’s difficult for all football enthusiasts to make the cut that is required to become a member of these clubs; however, amateur clubs help solve this challenge because in most cases one is not necessary to have exceptional footballing skills to become a member of the club. The following article will look at some of the things you should consider before joining an amateur football club.

Factors to Consider

Finding the right amateur club to join is not a walk in the park, especially if looking for the best facilities and the right group of people you want to interact with.

  • Location

Amateur football clubs are facilities where people spend time after work or on weekends; hence when deciding on the club to join, one should take into consideration the club’s location. It should be within your locality as you will not want to spend much money and time when attending football training.

  • Amenities and Facilities

Depending on the size and resources of a club, amateur football clubs can have a wide range of facilities such as a gym, meeting facilities, kids play area, a restaurant among others. Before joining a club, make a list of the facilities that you are looking for and go for the club that has all if not most of the facilities on your list.

  • Membership Fee

Most of the amateur football clubs are run by the members because they have limited sources of income. These clubs charge a membership fee to new members and its important to first enquire about the charges and if there is any renewal fee.
