The Reserves have reached the final of the OFA Intermediate Cup after a 4-1 win against Watlington Town FC.
The reserves were in County Cup action this week as they welcomed Watlington Town to Boults Lane in the semi final of the OFA Intermediate Cup. With a couple of players missing Luke Cuff, Benji Cuff and Tai Thomas came into the squad and it was the Cuff brothers who netted the goals to see Saints into the final. It was Watlington who struck first to put the visitors in front, but after growing into the game it was Benji Cuff who equalised for Saints when he converted a corner. Matty Jacob was back on the touchline for the reserves and made two substitutions with Owen Harris and Carly Bloomfield coming on for David Hook and Rich Hathaway to add some pace in the middle of the park. 20 mins later and it was Luke Cuff who was on target to put 2-1 up and were starting to put the pressure on Watlington. The second half started in the same way as the first had finished and 20 mins it was again Luke Cuff who netted his second and Saints third, Saints were growing in confidence as the game went on and captain Rio Maldini Cadle keep the defence tight and Steve Skyrme was having a quiet second half in the Saints goal. With 10 mins to go Watlington went down to 10 men after a second yellow card and top scorer Luke Cuff bagged his hat trick after converting Owen Harris' free kick. The result now means that the Reserves are now in two cup finals and top of the league with two games in hand.
